Overview

A chatter uses Organization to start and stop their own shift. Telestars compares the start time with the recurring schedule and records the result as Scheduled, Early, Late, or Unscheduled.

  • Record an open shift and its final duration.
  • Understand why a shift received its classification.
  • Correct a recorded entry with manager context when needed.

Before you start

  • Open the workspace in which the member, bot assignments, and shifts should live.
  • Confirm your current role allows the team action you intend to perform.
  • Use an active chatter membership before creating or editing a chatter schedule.

Step by step

  1. As a chatter, open Organization and confirm today's schedule and workspace timezone.
  2. Select Start shift when work begins and verify the open-shift timer appears.
  3. Select Stop shift when coverage ends and confirm the entry moves into recent history.
  4. Review the Scheduled, Early, Late, or Unscheduled classification against the planned slot.
  5. When a correction is required, ask a permitted manager to update the history entry from Team and add a clear manager note.

How it works

These are the product rules and states that matter for this workflow.

Verify the result

  • The member role and assigned bots match the intended operating scope.
  • The weekly schedule is shown in the workspace timezone, including any overnight end time.
  • Invitations, role changes, assignments, and schedule changes appear in the appropriate team view.

Troubleshooting

If you see thisWhat to check
A team action is missingReview the Roles matrix and confirm your role can manage the target member and action.
A chatter cannot find a botCheck the chatter membership is active and that the bot is assigned in Team.
A shift is classified unexpectedlyCompare the clock-in time, workspace timezone, and scheduled slot shown for that day.

Best practice

Clock in at the real start of work and stop the shift promptly. Use corrections for genuine errors, not as a replacement for daily clock use.
