Overview
The Getting Started page keeps the launch-critical Telegram steps available after onboarding. Each step includes the action, supporting bullets, and a reference image where one is needed.
- Complete the Telegram setup in a repeatable order.
- Avoid linking a different bot or profile by mistake.
- Return to any setup step without restarting onboarding.
- Move from Telegram configuration into Telestars product readiness.
Before you start
- A Telestars workspace and permission to configure at least one bot.
- Access to the Telegram account and the official @BotFather bot used for setup.
- A Telegram Business profile with the Chatbots settings available.
Step by step
- Complete steps 1–3: open the official @BotFather, create the bot with /newbot, and paste the complete API token into Telestars.
- Complete steps 4–6: open /mybots, select that exact bot, open Secretary Mode, and turn it on.
- Complete steps 7–9: open Telegram Settings, go to Telegram Business → Chatbots, search for the bot username, and add it to private chats without exclusions.
- Complete steps 10–11: enable the required message, profile, gift and Stars permissions, enable Stories when shown, then accept Telegram’s warning.
- Complete step 12 in Telestars: fund the wallet when your role requires it, finish creator and script setup for the selected mode, and activate AI from My Bots.
- Reopen Getting Started whenever you add another bot and repeat the checklist against that exact username.
How it works
These are the product rules and states that matter for this workflow.
| What to know | Telestars behavior |
|---|---|
| Checklist length | The current guide contains 12 launch-critical steps and remains available from the dashboard. |
| Permissions | The checklist calls for Manage Messages 5/5, Manage Profile 4/4, Manage Gifts and Stars 5/5, plus Stories if Telegram exposes it. |
| Chat scope | The onboarding path selects all private chats and does not exclude a chat from the linked bot. |
| Final setup | The last step continues in Telestars because creator, script, sales-mode, wallet, and AI readiness are workspace settings. |
Verify the result
- The same bot username is visible in BotFather, Telegram Business, and My Bots.
- Telegram Business shows the bot under Chatbots with the required permissions enabled.
- The My Bots card either says Ready to turn on AI or lists only an intentional remaining blocker.
Troubleshooting
| If you see this | What to check |
|---|---|
| Telegram Business or Chatbots is missing | Confirm that the personal Telegram account has Business features available and that the app is up to date. |
| The BotFather screens differ from the guide | Use /mybots, select the exact bot, and look under Bot Settings for Secretary Mode; Telegram may adjust labels or layout. |
| A step was completed on the wrong bot | Return to BotFather and Telegram Business, remove the wrong link if needed, then repeat the step using the username displayed in My Bots. |
Best practice
Configure and validate one bot end to end before copying the setup to other bots. A real Telegram conversation is the final source of truth.
