Overview
The correct plan action depends on the bot’s billing source and current period. New paid subscriptions normally continue through Stripe, existing Stripe plan changes open the billing portal, and legacy wallet-renewal bots preserve their dedicated migration behavior.
- Recognize Stripe, legacy wallet, standard, and included billing sources.
- Understand immediate upgrades versus scheduled downgrades.
- Stop renewal without confusing it with immediate access loss.
- Restore or cancel a scheduled change safely.
Before you start
- An owner or admin role, because wallet, subscriptions, payment methods, and renewal controls are restricted billing data.
- At least one connected bot when you want to select or change a per-bot plan.
- A supported card or cryptocurrency when adding funds.
Step by step
- Open Billing → Subscriptions and locate the intended bot by display name and Telegram username.
- Read its current plan, status, billing source, period end, and any pending plan or cancellation state.
- Choose Manage and select the target plan; read the Billing and Timing summary before proceeding.
- For a new paid subscription, continue through Stripe Checkout; for an open Stripe subscription, complete eligible plan or renewal actions in the Stripe portal.
- For a legacy wallet-renewal bot, review whether the action charges now, schedules a lower plan, or moves the subscription to Stripe.
- To stop renewal, confirm the dialog and note the date through which current paid access remains available.
- Return to Subscriptions and History to verify the final active, scheduled, canceled, or payment-failed state.
How it works
These are the product rules and states that matter for this workflow.
| What to know | Telestars behavior |
|---|---|
| Stripe subscriptions | New Starter and Pro subscriptions normally use recurring Stripe billing, and existing Stripe plan changes are handled through its portal. |
| Legacy wallet renewal | Some existing bots can still renew paid plans from the Telestars wallet and may offer a choice to remain there or migrate to Stripe. |
| Period-end access | Stopping renewal preserves paid access until the displayed end of the current period rather than always removing it immediately. |
| Scheduled downgrade | A lower legacy wallet plan can be scheduled for the next renewal date while the current paid tier remains active. |
| Included entitlement | A locked included-Pro bot has no normal monthly subscription action to manage. |
Verify the result
- The plan row shows the intended active or pending tier.
- The billing source and renewal date match the action you confirmed.
- History contains any immediate subscription debit or adjustment expected from the change.
Troubleshooting
| If you see this | What to check |
|---|---|
| A Stripe plan change returns to the portal | Complete and confirm the change in Stripe; Telestars intentionally delegates an open Stripe subscription’s billing changes there. |
| Payment failed and the bot shows Free or Past due | Update the Stripe payment method or resolve the failed invoice, then refresh Subscriptions to confirm the recovered state. |
| A cancellation seems not to work | Check cancel-at-period-end and the displayed period end. Access can remain active until that date even though renewal is stopped. |
Best practice
Use Billing as the source of truth for current prices, fee rates, thresholds, and plan availability; review History after every material payment or renewal change.
